The West Sail 32 set the standard for the first generation of production cruising boats. Designed by Crealock, they were an extension of the famous Colin Archer Norwegian lifeboat design of the 1890s. A proven hull, they are heavily laid up with 24 layers of uni-directional cloth, encapsulated iron and lead ballast, robust scantlings, heavy bronze hardware, and (with the factory finished hulls) well executed hardwoods in the finish work. The deck is 1?2? marine ply sandwiched between two heavy built up layers of roving/glass. This particular vessel has been provided with numerous upgrades from the custom stainless steel bowsprit system, custom stern pulpit and boom kin system, newer wind vane self steering, and a newly rebuilt and re-installed Perkins engine. The performance of the West Sail 32 is varied ... but their performance at sea is proven over the years. They have excellent sea-keeping ability despite a somewhat wet ride ... but have earned a reputation for surviving the harshest conditions. This vessel has been outfitted for and has completed one round trip to the Hawaii Islands under a prior owner, solo.

Interior
This vessel was one of the 430+ / 800 hulls which were factory finished. She has 3 major and several intermediate bulkheads which are fully tabbed to the hull. The majority of the interior is fitted out in mahogany and teak to a high degree.
Upon entering the main cabin, there is a U shaped galley to port with stove, drop in frig, deep double stainless steel sink and ample storage. Adjacent to starboard is addl. Storage and chart table.
Immediately forward of the galley is a large settee table with seating for up to four and ample storage. The area is fitted with oil lamp and a barometer and clock.
Immediately forward of the starboard chart table is additional storage and a pilot berth ... with a diesel heater installed on the bulkhead forward.
The head is formed between two bulkheads amidships to port and has a commode, sink and full storage. Adjacent to starboard is additional storage lockers.
The forward compartment of the vessel is formed with a double berth to port ... and additional lockers and storage to starboard. Immediately forward of the berth is the forepeak bulkhead and access to the chainlocker.
The overheads are largely vinyl covered foam with battens. The interior is in good condition with serviceable upholstery.
